What happens in

PLAYBACK THEATRE a show?

At the start of the show, the audience meets a group of actresses a musicianat the

beggining of the show, the audience face a group of actresses, a musician and an

emcee who acts as a presenter and a mediator between the public and the interpreters.

The show starts with a brief presentation of each member of the company.

A member of the audience willl come to tell a personal story.  Then, in a ritualized

process using mime, music and spoken scenes, the actresses  and musician will

improvise and act out the story.

These forms are based on sensations or impressions that the public share about a

topic to be discussed, which is introduced by the emcee. Then they will work with

more complex stories: a spectator goes on stage and tells a real story that he

wants to share with the rest of the audience.

The viewer who tells the story chooses an actress who will represent himself and the

rest of the characters. Immediately after, the group recreates the story without

improvising, sometimes using few scenographic elements such as fabrics.

At the end of the show a staged synthesis of what happened ends the function.

In this way, the individuals in the audience will witness a theatre of their own stories.
