¿WHAT IS PLAYBACK THEATre?

Playback Theatre is an interactive  form of theatre in which the audience members tell their own life stories and a group of actors along with one or more musicians enact them  on the spot spontaneously.

This technique was developed in 1975 in New York by Jonathan Fox and Jo Salas in New York. inspired by the oral tradition of the Indo-American peoples, the Theater of the Spontaneous by Jacob Moreno (father´s Psychodrama) and the Theater of the Oppressed by Augusto Boal.

Playback theatre is used in a range of contexts including public performances, community arts, social dialogue, peace building, conflict resolution, education, change management and celebrations.
